Psychiatric Aides supervised and aid patients with AIDS physically, mentally sick, injured disabled or sick people in hospitals, care homes and institutions. Home health aid performs a similar task at home sick.

The federal law on health insurance funded facilities requires home health aid to pass the test of competence for a wide range of skills. Federal law suggests at least 75 hours of classes and practical training, supervised by a registered nurse before taking a test. The National Association for Home Care voluntarily offers a national certification for home health workers. Some countries also require employees to be licensed.
